1. Documents required for opening an OCBC account

• Valid personal passport
• Android or Apple mobile phone with NFC function (needed to recognize and read the chip in the passport)
• ID card (front of the ID card needs to be photographed)
• Mainland China mobile phone number (requires SMS verification)

3. OCBC Registration Process

Open the OCBC app and click on the upper right corner to switch to Chinese

After switching to Chinese, click Register to become a new customer

Click below for foreigners holding e-passports. e-passports are for individuals holding passports from Hong Kong, Malaysia, Indonesia or Mainland China who currently reside or plan to reside in Singapore.

Click to start the application.

Register using your mobile phone number and email address. Mobile phone numbers are supported in mainland China. It is best to use your regular mobile phone number. You can use gmail, hotmail, or domestic QQ or 163 email addresses. After filling in the information correctly, you will receive a text message to verify your data number in the next step.

Open the photo page of your passport. Make sure you are in a well-lit environment to avoid blurring or halos, and be careful with your phone camera.

Then close your passport, click "Next" as shown, and use your phone to slide up and down on the passport cover to read the chip inside the passport

If you feel a vibration on your phone, indicating that it is reading the information, do not move the phone on your passport until it finishes reading.

Next, just take a photo of our ID card. You only need to take a photo of the front.

When taking a photo of a person's face, you need to confirm your identity, which requires you to do things like shaking your head, blinking, etc.

Fill in your basic personal information. All options are in Chinese. All options that need to be filled in manually must be in English or Pinyin.

2 Security Settings
